Lunch in Savannah

Finally back on the road April 8th, after few weeks in Oviedo FL getting some RV issues fixed at the very crowded and very under-staffed RV shop. It seems that everyone wants to be on the road with me, ASAP please! I’ll admit that I haven’t felt so ‘on-trend’ since Junior High when I finally got the Chuck Connors Converse sneakers that I had always wanted.
Friday I had lunch in Savannah with a good friend. She's a botanist, with beautiful Amaryllis in her front yard, and a delightfully sharp sense of humor. We get along well because she's a dog-trovert just like me. The animal rescue she works with saved thousands of animals last year, and prevented thousands more from having to be saved with spay and neuter vouchers.
She volunteers her time transporting animals securely in her mini-van with Mario Andretti-like speed and precision. At the end of the month, she (and two other drivers) will make a run from Savannah to Utah and back in four days! So, if you happen to see a van full of Labrador Retrievers roll-up in your rear-view mirror, slide over and let them pass – it’s the underdog railroad coming through.
She helped me out with an antenna repair while I was in Savannah (apparently RV repair/maintenance is a never-ending thing… just like boats I guess?). The adhesive on my cell booster had let go and I was flying at half-mast. She brought Gorilla Tape to the rescue - a duct tape with attitude.
Happily back on the road Friday afternoon, it occurred to me that there are only two kinds of problems in life: the ones solved by duct tape and the ones solved by WD-40. I had better stock up on both.
Headed for Hilton Head then Asheville.
