Glyphs and Aliens

Arriving in Albuquerque on Cinco de Mayo made for the perfect evening at the local watering hole. In addition to yummy blue-corn tortilla enchiladas, I got some great tips for where to go and what to see. Locals are always the best source of travel guidance. Before skipping town, I visited Petroglyph National Monument at Rinconada Canyon. Native people left messages for others by carving through the dark surface layer of basalt to expose the lighter colored stone underneath. It is clear that they were VERY committed to getting their message across - even 500 years later.

You all know that I couldn't possibly go to New Mexico without stopping in Roswell. After spending an afternoon in the International UFO Museum and Research Center, I can tell you that something happened there in Roswell. The library there has all the affidavits and recordings of the interviews. Something happened there for sure, someday we'll find the truth the government is hiding. Maybe I'll devote myself to uncovering the mystery - that would be a really cool puzzle to solve. This visit, I had to move on without getting to experience any alien encounters. But there's always the next visit.

Now, north and west to Ship Rock.
